Questions about our picture database

Do I still own the rights of my images after adding them to your database?

Yes. By sending in some picuters you give us the permission to publish your pictures on this non-commercial web page. Nevertheless you are still the owner of your pictures.
For more information have a look at the Add pictures page.

Can I add images which were taken by someone else?

No. For legal reasons we can only accept pictures that have been photographed by the person who likes to add them to our galery. If we will find out or be informed about misused images in our database, the image will be removed immediately and the user will be banned.
This excludes pictures that where given to you for your own use, e.g. pictures taken by family members or friends.

How can I remove my pictures?

Please contact us, either in the discussion forum or by sending an e-mail. Your concern will be handled within 7 days.

What kind of images do you prefer at scale-spotting.com?

At scale-spotting.com we would like to show pictures of aircraft- and airport-models which give the spectator the impression of a real scenery at first sight. How this is achieved doesn´t matter. Very important is for example that there is no colourful wallpaper in the background visible, but this does not necessarily mean that you have to buy an expensive backdrop foil showing a huge landscape. A white wallpaper can also be acceptable if it does not influence the overall picture negatively. If you are good with photomontages, it can also be an option to insert the background digitally as long as it looks realistic. In this way you can for example also add some light effects to the original picture. One hint: The more detailed the picture is, the more realistic it seems! Mostly the peanuts make the whole thing lifelike. And if you do not have an airport model at all? You can also show "in the air" pics of your aircraft models - but please make sure that the photograph does not include the hand which is holding the aircraft or the strings attached. One last thing: The scale does not matter at scale-spotting.com, only 1/1 is not allowed. Now you should have some ideas regarding the motif. Needless to say that blurred and over- or underexposed images cannot be accepted ;-)

There is no category for the aircraft type on my picture. Can I add my picture anyhow?

Yes, of course. If we get a picture of an aircraft type missing in the gallery, we´ll add a new sub-category.
